Q&A

When’s the RSVP Deadline?

June 1, 2025.

Can I bring a date?

Your plus one should have received a wedding invite. Kindly note that there are capacity limitations at the wedding ceremony and the reception. If you need an accommodation regarding your plus one, please let us know.

What will the weather be like?

Generally, weather in September in the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park is sunny, with temperatures ranging in the high 60s to low 70s during the day and 50s at night. We plan to have heat lamps outdoors during the night.

Where should I park?

There will be a free parking lot at the wedding ceremony and the reception venues. We will also provide transportation to and from the ceremony and the reception.

What should I wear?

See the “Schedule” tab for the dress code.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors. (See “Schedule” tab for more details.)
Our reception will be indoors and outdoors.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Wear comfortable shoes that are suitable for walking on grass and dirt for the ceremony and photoshoots. Although the reception will be much less muddy, it will still be in the backyard with a lawn that may get soggy in the event of rain. (We do not recommend stilettos!) See “Schedule” tab for more details.

Tell me more about the location.

The ceremony and photoshoot locations are situated in Del Norte County, which is a county in the far northwestern corner of California on the Pacific coast. The two groves we selected for our ceremony and photoshoots are located in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, named after the first American (trapper, trader, colonizer, and slave owner) to explore Del Norte County, Jedediah Smith. The Smith River that runs along the two groves was also named after him. Del Norte County is home to coastal redwood and pine forests, wetlands, both sandy and rocky beaches, ponds, rivers, tide pools, and mountain ranges. It has a mild “Mediterranean” climate. It is also a commercial fishing port known for its salmon, tuna, shrimp, and crab. There is one small airport, Del Norte County Airport.

The Airbnb is located in Brookings, Oregon, which is part of Curry County near the northern border of California. Brookings is on the Pacific coast. There are coastal redwoods in the Redwood Nature Trail north of Brookings, scenic walking trails for orca and whale watching at Port Orford Heads State Park, an agate beach in Tseriadun State Park, and many other forest trails. Like Del Norte County, Curry County has a mild “Mediterranean” climate.
